Abstract

Tamar Ross, an Orthodox Jewish philosopher, seeks to reconcile feminism with Jewish tradition through her theory of “continuous revelation”. In works such as Expanding the Palace of Torah (2004), she interprets divine revelation as a dynamic process that gradually incorporates ethical and feminist concerns. Ross addresses gender bias in sacred texts, reinterprets Torah min ha-Shamayim through mystical and postmodern lenses, and advocates for a Halakhic evolution that preserves the authority of tradition while including the female voice.
